Laboratory-based vibrotactile biofeedback systems are impractical for use in home balance rehabilitation regimens due to their cost, size and complexity. Wider, easier, and cheaper use of vibrotactile feedback devices can be achieved by exploiting the newest technologies.
LEARN MOREWearable biofeedback devices have been shown to improve balance in young and older adults and individuals with balance impairments. We have performed a series of studies to quantify how individuals use and respond to vibrotactile biofeedback and will use the results to inform the design of future biofeedback systems.
